Honey & Hazel
Honey & Hazel Boutique is a women’s clothing and accessories boutique that offers trendy contemporary styles at an affordable price located in the southern city of Alpharetta, Georgia. Honey & Hazel offers a warm and friendly shopping atmosphere with great customer service and aims to provide customers with a unique mix of quality jewelry and clothing lines at a price point that won’t break the bank. Honey & Hazel Boutique is owned and operated by best friends and mother/daughter duo local to Georgia, Grace & Julie Gordy. The Gordy girls put their hearts and souls into every little detail and treat their customers like part of the family.
The story behind the name is very special to them because it is a tribute to Emily Hayes, their beloved Grandmother and Mother. She was 92 years old and a beautiful, southern woman – she passed right when the Gordy girls were in the very beginning stages of creating the store. She called everyone that was dear to her a “honey” and had beautiful hazel eyes; hence the name “Honey & Hazel.” The name is not only is a tribute to her, but also represents Grace & Julie as well.
Meet the Gordy Girls
Opening Honey & Hazel as a twenty-something has been an incredible dream come to life! Raised by a creative mother and a business-savvy father, she knew from a young age she wanted to be her own boss doing something in fashion. She had various internships such as working for Seventeen magazine in New York City and received a B.F.A. in Fashion Marketing from Savannah College of Art & Design in Atlanta. After college, she moved to the charming city of Charleston, South Carolina and worked for a couple years in marketing and retail management, specifically in boutiques where she realized she was ready to pursue her own. Grace and her mom, Julie talked about opening a boutique together since she was very young and to see it come to life now is a total blessing!
Grace
Julie was surrounded by creative women growing up and has a background in interior decorating, design, and buying. When she and her family moved up to Northeast Georgia, she pursued her dream of opening a successful and delightful home décor shop, which she ran for five years. After that she went on to be the creative director and buyer for another home décor store. She and her daughter always dreamed of opening a clothing boutique together and decided to bring that dream to reality and opened Honey & Hazel Boutique in April of 2014. Running the store together is a great creative outlet and wonderful way to spend quality time with her family.
